Ultimea Support

V143 is the latest version of Poseidon D60.

Must read before upgrading:

If the sound quality of the factory version meets your requirements or the current factory version is V143, you don't need to upgrade the software version. (Switching versions multiple times may cause compatibility issues)

Before upgrading this version, please make sure your factory software version is less than V143(Press and hold the button on the right side of "surround" for 5 seconds.)(Not suitable for V018/ V019 or T20/T019 or V45 with App control new version).

③ Please ensure that the soundbar and the subwoofer remain connected before upgrading. Otherwise, the software versions will be inconsistent, and the subwoofer will have no sound or will not work.

④ If the device crashes and cannot be turned on after the upgrade, please contact customer service to send a "recovery file", please get in touch with support@ultimea.com.

V143 improvements:

① Optimize EQ1/EQ2/EQ3 sound effects
② Improved mid-frequency for clearer sound
③ Enhance surround sound quality

Specific Method:

1. Copy the "update.zip" file to the USB flash drive.

Note:
Use an empty USB flash drive, USB format: FAT32, 128GB or less capacity;
The file doesn't need to be unzipped;

2. After the Soundbar is turned on, insert the USB flash drive into the USB port, WAITING will be displayed, and then it will automatically upgrade and the progress will be displayed. Automatically standby after the upgrade is completed.
3. Press and hold the button on the right side of "surround" for 5 seconds. If the display shows "V143, " the upgrade is successful.

    Is there any chance that we can get true dts via update? I can’t use passtrough and my tv has always to convert to the signal to Dolby to get audio.

    Hello everyone. I was hoping someone could advise if it's possible to level all of the sound during a movie? I watched a movie last night and I had to hold the remote in my hand and adjust the volume well over 50+ times. Dialog is very quiet then sound effects absolutely deafening. It's very important to me as I live in an apartment. My TV has a setting that levels all of this and is one of the best features ever. I set the volume once and I can hear everything great and no annoying 10x louder sound effects. I had to turn off my D60 half way through as I just couldn't enjoy the movie. The setting on the TV doesn't apply to the surround sound which is connected via e-arc.

    I know one of the EQ settings does boost dialog a little bit but the sound effects are still ridiculous.

    I think I'm on V132. But I could be wrong I updated it around 6 months ago.

    Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

    I would recommend to update to the newest version 132 was also bad in my opinion with to loud sound.

    Hey guys, I found a way to greatly improve your listening experience today and I'm sharing it with you. All you have to do is tilt your rear speakers towards your ears like above picture. I tried this today and it was great, the fidelity of the surround channels increased significantly and the surrounds felt much fuller!

    Hey there, this update seems to have bricked my system.  I was previously on V139 when I tried to upgrade to V143.  My soundbar will not turn on (no visible display).  Please advise.

    I also wait for a new one. I thought this Version would be Great in Terms of clear Voice, but now i have only a very few Surround Sounds in Movies when there should be way more. And my left sattelite speaker is very quiet if somethings happens

    Switch to a Linux distro, preferably something like Ubuntustudio with Pipewire. And turn on Pro mode in the audio settings. You can then control the volume of each channel and it works perfectly, including the subwoofer!

    It's working on V143 on my Poseidon, stayed on V139 before. The problem was solved after I formatted the usb-stick to FAT, not to FAT32 like the official instruction.
    The sound is clearer, has more power and it's fulfilled now. Actually the best settings on this firmware V143.

    Hello @Ultimea could you kindly post  the recovery file here as well. I am hesitant to upgrade since i fear that the upgrade will brick my system .make the recovery file available here incase things fail. Also in your next upgrade please provide app support for D60 this will make it easy for us to navigate .

    Hi all,

    Okay this is going to be a long post. I've been testing this Soundbar with Windows and Linux, and the different firmware, for months now. Here's where I am at -

    1. The sound is just way better on Linux. I am on Ubuntu Studio 24.10

    2. On Linux, the channel separation is much better than on Windows.

    3. Pipewire + Wireplumber does not play nicely. It is better to go back to Pulseaudio + ALSA

    4. in /etc/pulse/daemon.conf, you need to disable bass remixing, upmixing, resampling, volume normalisation etc. And specify 8 channels in a 7.1 format. Now here's the kicker. This Soundbar does NOT follow the usual channel mapping. Its channel mapping is this - FL, FR, SL, SR, FC, LFE, RL, RR. Be very careful about this.

    5. Next, set your format to float32le or s32le depending on what your card supports. Note that to get Dolby Atmos, you need HDMI eARC 2.1. Non-negotiable. Set your Fs to 192kHz and an alternate/fallback rate to 48kHz. Also set real-time priority and high priority

    default-sample-format = s32le
    default-sample-rate = 192000
    alternate-sample-rate = 48000
    default-sample-channels = 8
    default-channel-map = front-left,front-right,side-left,side-right,front-center,lfe,rear-left,rear-right

    high-priority = yes
    nice-level = -11

    realtime-scheduling = yes
    realtime-priority = 9

    exit-idle-time = 0 #this makes sure that no other streams will share this device/buffer

    Then in default.pa, insert these lines -

    load-module module-alsa-sink device=hw:0,3 channels=8 channel_map=front-left,front-right,side-left,side-right,front-center,lfe,rear-left,rear-right
    load-module module-allow-passthrough

    replace the device name with yours, of course.

    6. Next, in .asoundrc (or /etc/asound.conf), you need to hard specify the number of channels, Fs, and the channel remapping. ALSA expects the standard config (FL, FR, FC, LFE, SL, SR), so you need to remap it like so -

    pcm.!default {

     type plug
        slave {
            pcm "hw:0,3" # Replace with your HDMI or SPDIF output device
            format S32_LE
            rate 192000
            channels 8
        }

      bindings {
        0 0  # Front Left
        1 1  # Front Right
        2 4  # Center
        3 5  # LFE
        4 2  # Rear Left
        5 3  # Rear Right
        6 6  # Side Left
        7 7  # Side Right
      }

      ttable {
        0.0 1  # Front Left
        1.1 1  # Front Right
        2.4 1  # Center
        3.5 1  # LFE (Subwoofer)
        4.2 1  # Rear Left
        5.3 1  # Rear Right
        6.6 1  # Side Left
        7.7 1  # Side Right
      }
    }

    pcm.iec958_output {
        type plug
        slave {
            pcm "hw:0,3"  # Replace with your HDMI device if necessary
            format IEC958_SUBFRAME_LE  # IEC958 output format for S/PDIF or HDMI
        }
    }

    ctl.!default {
        type hw
        card 0  # This is the HDMI card controller
    }

    7. Next, in the same daemon.conf, you need to set a crossover frequency for the LFE. This makes sure that the admittedly powerful-for-this-price subwoofer will handle all the lower frequencies, since the main unit and the satellites do not contain full-range drivers. I set it to 80Hz for my living room setup. YMMV.

    resample-method = soxr-vhq
    avoid-resampling = yes
    enable-remixing = no
    remixing-use-all-sink-channels = no
    remixing-produce-lfe = no
    remixing-consume-lfe = no
    lfe-crossover-freq = 80

    flat-volumes = no

    8. Once you've done all this, in the sound options, under Test for your HDMI device, you will be able to see all 8 channels. And guess what? Linux treats each as a separate physical channel so you can actually control the volume of each channel individually!

    9. Finally, definitely use MPV as your media player. You can configure mpv.conf with audio-channels = 7.1,5.1,stereo and audio-formats = ac3, eac3, truehd, mat to achieve passthrough. And voila, the Soundbar falshes "Dolby Atmos" when I play Top Gun Maverick.

    IMPORTANT - Some movies are mastered with the core track in 5.1 plus atmos metadata, and some with the core track in 7.1. If you set all your settings to 6 channels, then 8 channels will be mixed down to 6 AND ATMOS METADATA WON'T BE PASSED. So better set your channel config to 7.1 (8) and just mute the rear channels. Then atmos passthrough works flawlessly.

    10. Since Ubuntu Studio 24.10 uses a low-latency kernel that is optimised for audio, the sound is amazing. Furthermore, Ubuntu 24.10 comes with Plasma 6.1 with Wayland, which has HDR10 support!

    So, yeah, ditch Windows and move to Linux for your HTPC system, and this Soundbar performs very well for the price.

    nota bene - Ultimea definitely still needs to fix the satellites bleeding into each other. The effect is way less pronounced on Linux, but it is still there. This is a firmware issue.

    Ya llevamos mucho tiempo esperando, para cuando tendremos nuestra

    nueva versión de la aplicación Soundbar, o un Software personalizado para Poseidon D60 mas exacto sin tanto eco y ruido en los parlantes traseros, con una mejor calidad de sonido que este a la altura y precio de nuestro poseidon D-60 )-:

    De no ser asi NO volvere a comprar productos de Ultimea si no se da el debido soporte y actualizaciones a sus productos, mejor me quedare con marcas como Logitech o Bosse que son mejores en sonido

    I agree. Ultimea, please please fix the sound bleeding into the rear speakers issue. If I turn up the surround level to +2 and +3 you can clearly hear FL and FR bleeding into the rear speakers.
    This is such a good product for the price, but you really need to fix these basic issues.

    Don't worry about that. I spoke with them a few days ago about the separation bug and Dolby Atmos mapping accuracy and they responded that they are working on a major firmware revision. So there will probably be a firmware update coming soon that will bring about a big innovation. We just have to wait 😉

    I Hope we will get another Update soon . On eq1 everything dull like voices or shooting sequences in Movies or Games. On The other eq2,3 you have to Set The Volume to over 50 to have a good sound . Im on 143 at The Moment. I dont know why but The Quality of my System Seems to get worse over time

    When I asked about the schedule for Poseidon D60 for Ultimea EQ app in the middle of last month, they said it would take about 2 months, so you can expect the update in the middle of next month. The sound bleeding bug will also be fixed along with the app update :)

    Hello, I would be interested in experience. I have the 143 above, but there is very little real bass during the movies, which version gives more depth and maintains the cinematic surround effect. thank you

    Vorrei gli stessi benefici apportati su questa versione di firmware su mio poseidon D60 con firmware T019. Ho letto su alcuni commenti che offrite una soluzione a questo via mail. Vorrei anche io la stessa soluzione. Grazie

    I guess ill wait until the app or an actual good update before I change mine. Im on v142, it sounds good but everyone was saying you have to turn it past 50. Equalizers really doesnt do much and trying to distinguish when sound comes out the sound bar, your left, center and right channel just sounds like one channel. If you get really really close to the speaker you can hear the seperate channels. But whos going to put a sound bar to their face like cyclops glasses?! All in all I like the D60 just wish the front soundbar was more clear and channels feel like a car or plane is driving from right to left, or left to right etc

    Is it possible for a V144 update to add an EQ4 that greatly enhances the volume of the Center channel at lower volumes (or allow it to be adjusted - for example the left and right buttons on the remote which have no function in earc mode? I went from the D70 to the D60 in the hope that I would have a much better multichannel experience - but honestly the Center channel lacks quite a bit sometimes.

    Buongiorno. Ma non verrà rilasciata una nuova versione almeno per correggere il problema dei canali posteriori e poter controllare il canale centrale?
