Must read before upgrading:

1. If the sound quality of the factory version meets your requirements or your current software version is already V149, we do not recommend switching software versions.

2. There is a version detection method at the bottom of the page

Improvement Point:

  • Improved EQ Performance
  • Optimized Audio Quality
  • Enhanced Sound Clarity
  • Improved Sound Balance

Upgrade Method:

1. Download and Copy the "update.zip" file in the attachment to a USB flash drive
Note:
①the USB flash drive is empty and has a capacity of less than 128GB
②you don't need to unzip the file, just copy it to a USB flash drive.

2. When the Soundbar is powered on, insert the USB flash drive into the USB port of the Soundbar, and then the Soundbar will upgrade automatically and display the progress from 1 to 100.

3. After the upgrade is completed, the Soundbar will automatically standby;
4. After the Soundbar is turned on, pls check the software, press and hold the "MUSIC" button on the remote control for 5 seconds, and then the display will show V149, which indicates that the upgrade has been successful.

    Hi
    Just loaded V149.
Unfortunately it does not appear to fix the main issue with the hdmi power control

The unit powers off but them immediately powers back on again. You previously acknowledged this issue with Hisense tvs so is a fix coming soon?

Hello, I am currently on V131, would you recommend upgrading to V149 or no relevant changes have been implemented? Thank you.

    Dear Ramtin,
    Thank you for your inquiry.

V143 mainly improves the sound quality based on V131.

If the sound quality of the V131 version meets your requirements, we do not recommend switching software versions.

    Dear Paul Egerton,
Is the content you described referring to the HDMI CEC (controlling the soundbar on/off and sound adjustment) bug when connected to Hisense TV via HDMI?
The new software test has not found this compatibility bug yet.
If it affects your use, we recommend that you install the V98 version to test whether the problem exists.
If there are more details, please let us know and we will ask our technicians to further analyze and solve it. Thank you very much for your patience and understanding.

    Hi,
Just bought this soundbar, which update do you recommend? Is the lastest always the better one? The previous one to this as a star, does that mean anything?

I see that each one as different improvements, so if you use one update do you miss on anything from the other update?

    Thanks 😄

    Hello Ultimea Support,

The sound quality of V131 is fine, but I wouldn't mind an improvement! The thing is, which type of improvement it is exactly in V143? How was the sound quality improved? Just to see if it is worth the risk to perform the update.

    Thank you

Hi Humberto Soares Castelhano & Ramtin,

Thank you for reaching out and for your thoughtful questions!

Regarding the updates, the latest version, V143, does build upon the previous updates, meaning it includes all the improvements from earlier versions, including those from V131. The changes in V143 specifically focus on enhancing the soundbar's audio quality【Changes in high frequency, medium frequency, and low frequency】
Both versions have their sonic characteristics.  Sound preferences can vary for everyone.

If you're satisfied with the sound quality of V131, there's no need to update to V143, especially since multiple updates can sometimes introduce unforeseen compatibility issues.

Please let us know if you have any more questions or need further assistance!

Hi Ulltimea. I just updated from 131 to 149 since the sound was a bit of a mess in the previous version. Can you please explain what are the bass levels? I see now there 4,5,6 and so on and the -4,-5-6. What does it change from the previous ones?

    Hello Enzo,

In firmware version V131, the bass adjustment range was limited to -2 to 2, which provided a smaller range of control over the bass levels. With the update to V149, we've expanded the bass adjustment range significantly to -6 to 6. This change allows for finer control over the bass output, giving you more flexibility to either boost or reduce the bass according to your preference.

For example, levels in the positive range (e.g., 4, 5, 6) will increase the bass output, making it stronger, while negative levels (e.g., -4, -5, -6) will reduce the bass, offering a more subtle bass presence. This allows you to tailor the sound to your liking more precisely.

I think 100 volume levels are too much; it will be better a volume range of 40 (about).

Terrible firmware 'update', it's more like a downgrade for me... Vocals on V149 are clearer than stock factory V59 but at the same time losing a lot of quality. V131 outputs a much higher quality, I noticed warmer and higher quality vocals than both V59 and V149. Cannot speak for other firmware updates as I was not able to install them. I am using PCM output from my tv and movie mode on soundbar remote.

    Hello Ultimea,

Installed V149 and it's total downgrade in all aspects. The output level of sound bar is very low, regarding subwoofer - like it's switch off totally. TV - Hisense. Overall it does not improve TV sound while soundbar main option is to improve it! What is a sense to have such soundbar when original TV sound is almost the same? Dear Ultimea, why you make so many updates, but you don't improve main thing - sound of soundbar??? Just very easy - take 7pcs S50 soundbars, each with diff. sw version and just listen, make ear test for each, you will see how is downgrading sound quality with each newest sw version. Why? Why you forgot that soundbar must improve TV sound, now it doesn't at all with latest updates. The best which I found - V98, at least I can hear subwoofer working and sound from bar more or less is acceptable, but still not balanced. And yes, the soundbar volume level does not meat TV sound level (Hisense, connected with eARC).

Sounds looks more clear but something that i can explain... The best solution would be a equalizer that we can control... overall, I like it! I also like the bass level range! I'm using the optical with my TCL TV,.connect with my Shield TV but i can't control volume with my Shield Remote. But it never work for me! 😞

Beware: this update BREAKS support for Dolby Digital and PCM formats. Prior to v149, (eg version 131), when switching to “music” audio mode, the led displays “Dolby Audio” when there is a DD compatible format. Same with PCM when it is selected as an output format from TV. However, it does not show any of these anymore. In 149 the crappy “Dolby surround” is shown instead, which means that the soundbar is mixing the input. Also the sound loses its dynamic range. Dolby atmos seems unaffected . You can confirm this by setting the TV output to PCM, or by trying to play “Rings of power” on Amazon prime video(as it sends Dolby audio instead of atmos), you will notice the difference straight away when you downgrade to v131. I’ve tried in both Samsung S95 OLED and LG tvs

Just updated to V149, sound is huge downgrade, no deep bass and no highs.
V98 is the best for sound quality but need the matching TV + soundbar volume levels.

I give it a try but i turned back on v131, to me it's perfect especially movie preset (i'm using it for music also) very clear and deep sound even with bass at +0 (i put +1 only for small occasions). Only thing i miss in v131 is a little more stability on HDMI CEC (Sony tv)

Good evening I bought your Soundbar nova S50 from amazon but I'm not satisfied at all.

I understand that everything can be personal and subjective but I would at least like to improve the TV audio Not in terms of volume But in terms of quality If you have any advice my version has the V149.

Bass wise it's ok in my opinion but vocal wise it's not crystal clear at all.,   optical cable connection on an LG oled

    Thank you for your support

I’m currently using the v131 custom update ,I’ve tried many times to update it to v149 but it’s doesn’t work (it stays on USB ) not matter what I do ( I’m currently using it connected to the Bluetooth from the smart tv, unfortunately I don’t have hdmi earc. In the v131 update i get voice delay I thought that it was my tv , ut when I switch to the tv speaker the voices and sound are in time but not with the soundbar. Am I the only one who gets voice delay ?

The sound quality of V149 is poor comparable to V131. I frankly recomed to downgrade to V131.

Why does the soundbar always sound fuzzy when people are talking on a movie? Everything else seems to sound good, but voices don't. Also the v141 update is lacking in bass from the sub. I have it cranked up on 6 and it's not as noticeable as v131.
