Is it possible to rollback to the original firmware.
A reset doesn't appear to change it
Le modèle D80 est plein de beug , il y à trop de problème signalés.
Ultimea à envoyé une mise à jour en v199, le kit est bloqué et je peu plus revenir à la v204, le D80 est foutu.
Mauvaise marque.
moving from the D60 the D80 has been a nice change, EXCEPT for the lack of surround speaker volume. Even at 6 (and really from -6 to +6 there isn't even that noticeable amount of change in the volumes, which should be with 13 different settings), I still can't really hear them apart from the main centre speaker. I literally have to put my ear to the speakers to be able to tell that they're really working. With he D60, I actually had to turn the volume down a notch on surround to not be overwhelmed by them, but again, with the D80, VERY disappointing!!! If you haven't tried a D60, you would just think this is normal for the surround volume, but I KNOW it could be much louder, unless of course I just happen to have a defective unit?
Could support service here be any slower?
maybe if you're waiting here for any answers, but thru their email support support@ultimea.com I always got replies after 10pm overnight except on weekends. The support is in China or such, so they're on different hours, but Mayra or Sunny always got back to me within 24hrs otherwise.

Cordialement.
Totally agree with Glen. I moved from D60 to D80 and the last D60 Update was superb in terms of Surround. Pls give us more surround on D80!
The support for the d80 has been diabolical
AGREED!!!! There hasn't been any updates to address it's many faults. I only listed the surround issue here, but below are the Cons from my full review I submitted to them for the deal they gave me. They did manage though to fix my 7.1 audio problem with talk shows by telling me to try switching my TV to pass through for Dolby, and it worked.
Cons: SOUND overall is as expected with the 2 additional surround speakers, BUT it would have been a much nicer system if the Center and Right/Left front speakers had their own volume settings, but as it is they're Center can't be controlled individually like I could with my Vizio SB3651, and the Front and Rear surrounds are ALL on the SAME volume -6 to +6 control, so no way to balance them when distances aren't equal from the listening position. Also the volume is nowhere loud enough from the lowest to the highest range as it should be for 12 settings. In this case, the D60 had a much better soft to loud range with the V139 firmware that the D80 can't even come close to.
7.1 ISSUE with TV/Radio talk shows which use mics in front of their faces. I've tried EVERYTHING!!! And the only way I can get rid of the voices constantly changing from deep bass to high treble whenever they move away or closer to the mics, or raise their voices is to use the NIGHT setting and keep the volume at 10 or below. As soon as I go to 11 or above, the annoying changes in bass/treble tones gets worse. Hopefully a firmware update can fix this as it was never their watching the same shows with the D60, so a 7.1 issue it seems.
MUTE response is a real issue using the system's remote. Once the light on the center speaker goes out, to mute or unmute you have to push mute button once to light up the center speaker, then push again to mute or unmute, very annoying. Same if changing the volume up or down. I got around the issue using my Harmony remote and setting it up with remote signal the a Firestick as the mute responds immediately with that signal. Using the TV's CEC remote signals will also work.
Igen én is egyetértek, kéne egy jó nagy frissítés a D80
Ultimea.. quite a few posts here. How about showing some customer loyalty and providing a response. I am very close to returning my unit
Cordialement

What I want to tell you is, you will place the front satellite speakers in the front and use them, right? But in fact, that is the wrong placement... The front satellite speakers should be placed on either side of you. Because the speakers that the front satellite speakers are responsible for are the (Ls, Rs) channels. They are not actually front channels.
They use the strange term "front surround satellite speakers" in their marketing, even though the front satellite speakers are not actually responsible for the front channels... The front channels (L, C, R) are output from the soundbar. The satellite speakers do not contribute to the front channels at all...
The Poseidon D80 has 4 satellite speakers. The correct name for what they claim to be the front satellite speakers is "Surround satellite speakers"(responsible for the Ls, Rs channels) and the correct name for the other 2 is "Rear surround Satellite Speakers"(responsible for the Lrs, Rrs channels).
I could be wrong, but I find that the 2 front "satellite" speakers just MIMIC the L and R of the sound bar, unlike the surround separation on the rear ones which work correctly (just not loud enough). Also, if you're right, then the 2 front satellite speakers should have their OWN volume as like the rears, and that's one of my major complaints....this IS NOT a TRUE 7.1 system for sound, it just has 7 speakers :(
I second Glen's opinion. I've tested the s80 with a test signal produced by dolby laboratories specifically for dolby atmos. The front surround signal is produced by the rear surround speakers at the same time. 7 speakers, but definitely not 7 separate signals. The dolby laboratories test signal os on amazon music for anyone interested
Oh wait, really? If you're right, then the D80 is a 5.1 channel speaker, not a 7.1 channel speaker? But you two are talking about different things.
Glen says the front satellite speakers copy the (L, R) channels.
Barry mcindoe says the front satellite speakers copy the rear surround channels (Lrs, Rrs).
You two are not on the same page. Is that because Barry Mcindoe used a Nova S80? You said you used an S80, not a D80, which is a 5.1.2 channel soundbar, as the name suggests.

An exact way to know which channel the front satellite speakers of the D80 are handling is to play the following test tone on Amazon Music : https://music.amazon.ca/albums/B0CB96RXMR?trackAsin=B0CB96TTY8&do=play&ts=1748737208&ref=dm_sh_9g9SoM7tiLfy647YleSu97UjN
I will try and perform your test tomorrow...seems interesting!
As for tonight, I actually watched my FIRST Dolby Atmos movie (I prefer my man cave 7.2 Onkyo system downstairs for movies) tonight, and was very disappointed with the voice sound from the front speakers....constantly the voices would sound deep/normal, and others, right in the middle of the same conversations, they would seem like they were in a tin can. I even checked to be sure my TV was still on Dolby pass through after an update this week, and it was. This issue was very similar to my complaint way above about sport talk shows, which the pass through fixed. Would you have any insight into that issue Barry? I'd be very interested! I'll let you know the results of my testing tomorrow from your link.
Hi Glen. Not familiar with that system. Definitely worth running the dolby laboratories 7.1 atmos signal. What I do find interesting is ULTIMEA have provided absolutely no feedback on this matter. They're using the dolby atmos term very lightly

Here is the test tone file. After downloading it to your PC, connect your PC and Poseidon D80 via HDMI IN port. Then play it through Windows Media Player which is pre-installed in Windows. Then, Dolby Atmos will be displayed on your Poseidon D80 display.
I found playing it via amazon music on the tv worked best, via e arc. The sound bar will confirm the dolby atmos signal. Although I beleive you need a amazon music subscription
Been testing all morning, and it does appear that there is separation when playing Dolby Atmos. But you can't really hear it effectively from the fronts as the center/R/L speaker drowns them out for the most part, unlike the rears that have separate volume control, WHICH IS WHAT the fronts NEED as well to work nicely. I had the 2 front surrounds on top of my TV stand about 14" away on the same level as the center speaker. I've now moved them to the floor tilted upwards to see if they perform better that way.
Glen
In the test tone, the Ls and Rs channels are heard from the front satellite speakers, right?
If you hear sound from the front satellite speakers when you play the Ls, Rs test tones, you need to place the front satellite speakers on either side of your sofa. That is the correct 7.1 channel layout recommended by Dolby.
Lefutattam a tesztet én is de nekem a mély hangsugárzó nem is ad ki hangott. Mi lehet a baj?
Cekike87
That's not your problem. It's just that the subwoofer in the Poseidon D80 is responsible for a different frequency range than the subwoofer provided by Test tone. Hey, when you played the test tone, did the Ls, Rs channel sounds come out of the front satellite speakers?

Hey guys, check this out. This is a picture posted on the Ultimea Poseidon D80 store on Amazon.com.
If this information is correct, the front satellite speakers should be placed on either side of the sofa, and the rear satellite speakers should be placed behind the sofa.
placing the front surround speakers that far away isn't practical for most sound bar systems with the length from the TV all the way back to the listening area, and the wires will definitely not reach that far from the main front speaker. If this was the needed setup for proper DA, then all 4 surrounds should've been connected to the subwoofer where most of the seating is for most setups. and for me at least, I use the soundbar system in my upstairs living room, so hiding wires isn't really possible, unlike in the basement with my main system.
The bottom line still is that the D80 NEEDS to have separate volume controls for the front surround AND the center speakers, which I was told they were working on for future updates, but that was 5 months ago. And I'm not sure there's that capability with the way the system is already built to make those changes with just an update, but we'll see.
So you decided to place your satellite speakers in front of the sofa instead of on either side. And yes, I can understand your situation. What I mean is, placing the satellite speakers in the front means that the Ls, Rs sounds will be output from the front. In the case of the Poseidon D60, the Ls, Rs sounds are output from the rear satellite speakers. In other words, the Ls, Rs sounds are output from the back of the sofa. In other words, the direction of the Ls, Rs output from the Poseidon D80 is completely opposite to the direction of the Ls, Rs output from the Poseidon D60. In other words, it can create a completely different movie listening experience.
One of the complaints that people who used to use the Poseidon D60 have while using the Poseidon D80 is that the amount of surround sound output is greatly reduced. Why do they say that?
The reason is simple. In the case of the Poseidon D60, the Ls, Rs, Lrs, and Rrs sounds are all output from the surround speakers, not the soundbar. On the other hand, in the case of the Poseidon D80, the Ls, Rs sounds are output from the front surround speakers, and the Lrs, Rrs sounds are output from the rear surround speakers. And most people place the front surround speakers in front of the sofa, not on sofa's both sides. As a result, users will feel that the surround sound is reduced by 50% when watching a movie on the Poseidon D80 compared to when watching a movie on the Poseidon D60.
