My Troubleshooting Nova S50 - German / English
Hier als Hilfe für alle die Probleme mit der Lautstärke, mit der HDMI-CEC Verbindung zum TV, mit der Bass Regelung oder sonstiges haben:
1. Wer das volle Potenzial der Nova S50 ausschöpfen will, muss sich auch ein gutes HDMI Kabel kaufen.
Ja, es funktioniert mit einem "normalen" HDMI Kabel, aber man kommt leider nicht drum herum sich ein High Speed HDMI Kabel mit EARC, Dolby Atmos und HDR Zertifizierung zu kaufen wenn man es richtig machen will. Ein "normales" HDMI Kabel kann nur ARC, für EARC gibt es einen Pin mehr im Stecker!
2. Zu den Problemen mit der Lautstärke, dem Bass oder der HDMI-CEC Bedienung über eure TV Fernbedienung:
Überprüft die aktuelle Software Version - auf Music schalten - dann 5 Sekunden den Music Button gedrückt halten - im Display wird dann die aktuelle Version angezeigt - 059, 098 oder sogar 131.
059 ist die Werksseitige Version, die kann eigentlich gar nichts, die Lautstärke fliegt einem um die Ohren, der Bass ist nicht regelbar und auch die CEC Steuerung funktioniert nicht richtig.
3. An die Arbeit:
- von der Ultimea Homepage die aktuellen Software Versionen herunter laden

Die wichtigen Dateien sind V59, V98, V131. Diese könnt ihr auch entsprechend umbenennen, aber NICHT entpacken! Zum Update der Soundbar MÜSSEN diese Dateien jeweils alleine auf einem USB Stick vorhanden sein und wieder den Original Namen UPDATE tragen, sonst erkennt die Soundbar es nicht.
Umständlich, ist aber halt so ;)
- das HDMI Kabel abziehen!
- die Nova einschalten - Werkseinstellung herstellen - den Mute Button 5 Sekunden halten - im Display erscheint "REST"
- USB Stick mit der "UPDATE" Datei V59 rein und abwarten. Es dauert etwas aber dann erscheint im Display WAITING und das Update beginnt. Nachdem Update schaltet sich die Soundbar ab, jetzt noch einigen Sekunden warten, denn was nirgends geschrieben steht, die Soundbar schreibt 2 Log-Dateien auf den Stick.
Dann USB Stick raus, einschalten, Music 5 Sekunden halten und es sollte die 059 angezeigt werden.
- Das gleiche Spiel mit der V98 und der V131
- Nach dem Update auf V131 sollte sich die Soundbar in der Lautstärke bis auf 100 und der Bass von -2 bis 2 regeln lassen.
- Soundbar aus - HDMI anschließen und wenn euer TV richtig eingestellt ist, CEC ON, sollte nun beim Einschalten vom TV die Nova mit eingeschaltet werden und sich in allen Variationen regeln lassen.
Und nun zum "Realistisch bleiben"
Natürlich kann die Nova S50 kein echtes ATMOS, wie auch ohne die entsprechend nach oben abstrahlenden Lautsprecher?
Schaut euch einfach "echte" Atmos Anlagen und die Preise dazu an, dann wisst ihr was ich meine. Selbst die Nova S80 kostet ca. 400 Euro.
Aber man bekommt mit der S50 für wenig Geld ein gut funktionierendes System welches bei den meisten TV´s die eingebauten Lautsprecher wirklich mehr als überflüssig macht.
Viel Text für so eine kleine Soundbar, aber der Aufwand rentiert sich.

Here's help for anyone having issues with volume, HDMI-CEC connection to TV, bass control, or anything else:
1. If you want to exploit the full potential of the Nova S50, you also need to buy a good HDMI cable.
Yes, it works with a “normal” HDMI cable, but unfortunately you can’t avoid buying a high-speed HDMI cable with EARC, Dolby Atmos and HDR certification if you want to do it right. A “normal” HDMI cable can only do ARC, there is one more pin in the plug for EARC!
2. Regarding the volume, bass or HDMI-CEC control issues with your TV remote control:
Checks the current software version - switch to music - then press and hold the music button for 5 seconds - the current version will then be shown on the display - 059, 098 or even 131.
059 is the factory version, it can't actually do anything, the volume explodes in your face, the bass can't be adjusted and the CEC control doesn't work properly either.
3. Get to work:
- Download the latest software versions from the Ultimea homepage

The important files are V59, V98, V131. You can also rename them accordingly, but DO NOT unzip them! To update the soundbar, these files MUST be on a USB stick and have the original name UPDATE, otherwise the soundbar will not recognize them.
Funny, but that's how it is ;)
- Disconnect HDMI cable!
- Switch on Nova - Restore factory settings - Press and hold the mute button for 5 seconds - “REST” appears in the display.
- Insert the USB stick with the “UPDATE” file V59 and wait. It takes a while, but then WAITING appears on the display and the update begins. After the update the soundbar switches off, now wait a few seconds, because what is not written anywhere, the soundbar writes 2 log files to the stick.
Then take out the USB stick, turn it on, press and hold Music for 5 seconds and 059 should appear.
- Same game with the V98 and the V131
- After updating to V131, the soundbar should be able to adjust the volume up to 100 and the bass from -2 to 2.
- Soundbar off - Connect HDMI and if your television is set up correctly, CEC ON, the Nova should now be switched on when you switch on the television and can be controlled in all variations.
And now to “stay realism”
Of course, the Nova S50 can't do real ATMOS, how can it without the upward-emitting speakers?
Just look at “real” Atmos systems and their prices and you’ll know what I mean. Even the Nova S80 costs around 400 $.
But with the S50 you get a well-functioning system for little money that makes the built-in speakers on most televisions more than unnecessary.
A lot of text for such a small soundbar, but it's worth the effort.

Hab die neue v131 Software auf den Stick geladen und dann in die Soundbar gesteckt.
Es funktioniert nichts.

Was funktioniert nicht und welche Version war auf deiner S50?

Es erscheint nichts auf dem Display. Nur USB.
Hab ca. 15 min gewartet.
Eigentlich sollte doch irgendwas auf dem Display erscheinen. Lg

bitte auf die Speichergröße und Formatierung achten. Es darf sonst nichts auf dem Stick sein und die Datei nicht entpacken. Einfach drauf speichern. Nach kurzer Zeit erscheint vermutlich eine Prozentanzeige bis auf 100, dann Neustart und dann ging es los.
Danach empfinde ich den Sound als besser und die Lautstärke lässt sich fein regeln.
Für den Preis ist die Soundbar ein Tier!😄
Ich habe noch im Wohnzimmer die größte Samsung-Soundbar mit Atmos. Natürlich nicht zu vergleichen, aber das ist auch nicht die Absicht der S50. Denn für das was sie soll, macht sie es toll.
Bitte auch die Datei auch nicht umbenennen.
Es muss bei "update" bleiben.
Meine Empfehlung, HDMI Kabel raus, USB Stick mit FAT32 formatieren. Und bitte drauf achten den USB Stick nicht aus der S50 nehmen bevor sie sich wirklich ausgeschaltet hat
So es hat jetzt geklappt. Ich hab ihn nochmal formatiert und neu runter geladen.
Es ging dann auch gleich los, wo ich den Stick in die Soundbar gesteckt habe.
Du hast Recht, das der Sound besser ist und die Lautstärke lässt sich super regeln.
